RULES
1. You must write ten things about yourself.
2. At the end, you have to choose and tag 10 people and post their icons on the same journal.
3. Go to their pages and send a message saying you tagged them.
4. No tag-backs.
1. I am whole-brained. Neither left-brained nor right-brained. On a left/right brain test, I scored a 5.1, directly between left (1) and right (10). In college, I majored in math and minored in art. Most people find this to be odd, but it makes perfect sense to me. I am very interested in Multiple Intelligences (an education theory) which pin-points more than 10 different intelligences (only two of which are liguistics and mathematics - yep, our education system does a disservice to people with the other intelligences). My strongest intelligence is musical (which is whole-brained by nature). Tying in second place are mathematical (left-brained) and spatial (right-brained).
2. I am Catholic. I am very proud of my religion and my faith. It makes me who I am. God has brought me through the hard times. He has never left me stranded in a bad place. Even though I don't always understand why things are happening at the time, I can, in hindsight, see His hand working in my life. I have faith that He is in control and that things will always work out, even when it starts to look bad.
3. I am a teacher! I've always been a teacher, but it's nice to have the certification now to prove it. I didn't realize it when I was a child, but I have always derived pleasure from taking what I know and helping someone else to understand/learn it. Now I am a math teacher with aspirations of adding art to my certification, so that I can teach both subjects in the future. Right now, geometry is the closest I can get to teaching art.
4. I don't have a TV. You read that right. I find television to be very distracting and time-consuming with very little merit. I get my news from the internet and my radio, which is almost always on. I enjoy listening to music, but also to talk shows about news, politics, trends, stories, and fun and jokes. I have no interest in celebrities or gossip. Any tv show worth watching can be bought or rented on dvd, and dvds work just fine on my computer.
5. I love fish. Ever since I was a child, I was mesmerized by the fish at Sea World (I was born in San Antonio, and we had season passes). I could (and still can) stare at fish for hours. My goal is to visit every aquarium in the world. Before I realized that I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to become an architect and to specialize in designing aqauriums. I still think that would be a pretty neat job. One day, I want to have a large fresh-water aquarium in my house and a koi pond in the backyard. For now, I can afford (and have room for) betas.
6. The moon has always been an object of great interest for me. At night, I always look for the moon, and once I find it, I will point it out and ask the people around me to look as well. I don't care what phase the moon is in or how high or low it is in the sky or what color it appears: it is always always beautiful and worth gazing at.
7. My lucky number is 7. Well, sort of. I don't really believe in luck. But I love numbers. So, how can I not have a lucky number? Actually, my love of numbers extends much further than that. I have been excited about every birthday that has come along, partly because every single number has held meaning for me. Some are obvious: 13, 16, 18, 21. But other ages are also special. Right now, I'm 24. 4 is twice 2. Isn't that amazing? I love it!
8. I am addicted to neopets! For those of you unfamiliar, it is a website where you create virtual pets and take care of them. But it is so much more than that! The site has an extensive, working economy. You can buy, sell, trade, auction, discover, and be robbed. All with make-believe money, mind you! There are so many things to do on the site and it is easy to spend all of your online time at just that one site. You can play games, make friends, send and receive messages, join a guild (club), dress your pets, battle other pets, gamble, enter contests, vote on contests. It is never ending. I am totally addicted!
9. I enjoy daydreaming. Some people find it torturous to sit and think for a long period of time, but I can spend hours daydreaming. When I daydream, I spend a lot of time thinking about my stories. I love developing the characters and watching them go on new adventures. I hope to publish many books in my future.
10. Blue is the best color! Enough said!
I don't know who to tag. I guess I'll throw a few names out. I've noticed that a couple people read my journals. (I don't understand why...)
